Scaling factors for the Drive Supply Voltage and Drive Temperature variables

The drive supply voltage can be read through the AD4 variable (uint@0x240) and the drive temperature through the AD7 variable (uint@0x243).

The returned values are expressed in IU (drive internal units). To convert them to volts and respective to degrees Celsius, the following scaling factors needs to be applied.

1. Drive Supply Voltage

Voltage_measured [V] = (VdcMaxMeasurable/65520) * Voltage_measured [IU]

Where VdcMaxMeasurable is the maximum measurable DC voltage expressed in [V]. It can be found in the “Drive Info” window, that can be opened from the “Drive Setup” dialog (below is an example for the iPOS4808 MY-CAN-STO drive).

2. Drive Temperature

Remark: The drive temperature is available only if the respective drive has an integrated temperature sensor.

If the temperature sensor is present, the drive will indicate (in the AD7 variable) a value between 0 IU and 65520 IU.
The conversion to degrees Celsius will be done using the relation below.

Temperature [oC] = (Voltage_Measured [V] - Output at 0oC [V]) / Sensor Gain [V/oC]

where:
- Voltage_measured [V] = (3.3/65520) * AD7 [IU]
-
the "Senor Gain" and the "Output at 0oC" values can be found in the "Drive Info" window (below is an example for the iPOS4808 MY-CAN-STO drive).

Remark: The "Drive Supply Voltage" (in Volts) and "Drive Temperature" (in degrees Celsius) parameters are also displayed in the  "4_Drive Status" control panel, from EasyMotion Studio or Easy SetUp.
